Mapping Phase Underway. The SUNY Guided Pathways Project helps our state’s community colleges design and implement structured academic and career pathways at scale, for all students. After months of discussion, the program mapping phase of our Guided Pathways implementation started February 22 with the Department of Biology. CCRC has been a consistent partner to SUNY Guided Pathways Institutes. Guided Pathways efforts have been championed by the Community College Research Center (CCRC), the Bill & Melinda Gate Foundation, the Aspen Institute, and American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). A summary of their latest findings on this topic, based on work in 250 community colleges, was released in April 2018, What We Are Learning About Guided Pathways . Wallace State Community College, in Alabama, began its shift toward a total redesign in the fall of 2012, when it joined Achieving the Dream , a nonprofit devoted to institutional improvement. The Community College Research Center (CCRC) is an independent research center that studies two-year colleges and open-access four-year institutions in the United States. Building on national research, led by the Community College Research Center and the American Association of Community Colleges, this project is designed to help increase completion rates and student achievement.

The similarity between Tennessee completion practices and guided pathways practices is no coincidence.
